These are the terms of use that every member using interactive areas of this site agrees to adhere to. This would include chat rooms, message boards and other interactive areas such as blogs and member pages.

CHAT ROOM/Message Boards/Blogs

Communicating in a chat room or on message boards is different from face-to-face communication. Only the words are seen, not your facial expressions or tone of voice. Please pay careful attention to how you use your words. Remember that the words you enter in a burst of passion or anger will be there for you and everyone else to see, sometimes long after those intense feelings have passed. That's not meant to discourage spontaneity, but just a friendly reminder of the long-term existence and effects of what you post. You may, from time to time, find yourself in disagreement with someone else's opinion. At times like these, please keep in mind it's safer and more polite to take issue with the comments rather than the person.

In interest of fairness, please limit the number of blogs you post to no more than five in any given session. We value the input of all our members and strive to provide a wide range of content from multiple posters. Failure to abide by this posting limitation may result in deleted posts and/or suspension of your posting privileges.

By using the SGP website, you agree that you will not post any of the following material in chat rooms, message boards, or other forums:

• Any communication that is intended to harass, belittle, humiliate, threaten or cause embarrassment to a fellow member.
• Profanity or masking your profane words.
• Material that contains vulgar, obscene or indecent language or images. This includes posting links to other sites/media that violate this policy.
• Any communication that contains spam (multiple copies in one area or the same communication in multiple areas).
• Material that defames, abuses or threatens others, even other political candidates.
• Statements that are hateful or racially offensive.
• Any sexually-related images or discussion in any form will not be tolerated.
• Personal issues, issues related to SGP internal affairs or the specific issues of a specific member, and personal conflicts do not belong in our public forums.

Every area on SGP is private and all content is copyright SGP or the person who posted that content and is protected under the law. We are a private community. You may not copy and paste or use any private information without the express permission of the person who posted it and copying and pasting articles or blog entries may be a violation of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act.

Any postings which request money, purchase of products, or soliciting products will be immediately deleted.

CANDIDATE/CAMPAIGNS

Smart Girl Politics is a nonprofit, nonpartisan, conservative organization. We do not interfere in election campaigns.

Any member who joins SGP while running for office MUST adhere to following restrictions:

• A candidate cannot use his/her campaign logo or campaign message as their member ID.
• A candidate cannot request money or volunteers on any portion of the site.
• A candidate is welcome to address issues, but cannot make reference to their campaign race.

Any violations of these rules, will result in immediate banning from SGP.

PLEASE NOTE:

Statements or postings that violate the above terms will be deleted from postings upon discovery. While SGP moderators may attempt to notify you if we move or delete a post, we are under no obligation to do so. Depending on the nature of the violation, SGP moderators are at their discretion to terminate a person's membership. If you see any questionable activity on this board, please report the problem to our moderators.
